What’s New in 3DEXPERIENCE GEOVIA R2024x

In 3DEXPERIENCE R2024x, GEOVIA enhanced the VIRTUAL PLANET roles, delivering solutions spanning Geosciences, Earth Engineering and the Urban Environment.

Efficient access on the cloud and on-premise to geoscience data for all infrastructure project stakeholders through the Geosciences Referential Manager role. On the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, geoscience data integrity and auditability are assured through data administration with external data sources, clearly defined data characteristics, and constant monitoring of the data lifecycle.

Subsurface geology modeling with the Geology Modeler role has focused on broadening the geological environment complexity that can be modeled. Localized fault networks can now be modeled and used to control geological unit continuity; geological interpretations captured from geologists’ knowledge and know-how can guide implicit modeling for more precise modeling outcomes.

Earth Engineering Solutions’s approach to strategic mine planning has been overhauled with the new Strategic Mine Planner role. This encompasses all mining stages, from development to closure, by implementing robust scheduling strategies that prioritize value optimization and ecological responsibility aided by a new scheduling optimization engine. The Pit Optimizer and Strategic Mine Planner roles generate more realistic Net Present Value through enhanced scheduling capabilities utilizing physical constraints such as pit and phases from a block model attribute or surfaces designed using the Surface Mine Designer role.

Surface mine design capabilities have evolved to focus on reducing fleet travel distance whilst ensuring operator safety with streamlined ramp design. Mine Designers can minimize the impact of water on mining operations through improved water inflow and removal management at the early stages of mine design. Waste facility design outcomes are streamlined when working with complex topographic surfaces like valley landscapes.

Urban Environment solutions are elevated with geospatial intelligence. The City Referential Manager role can now make geospatially referenced data available to create data science experiences. Furthermore, with geospatial data source authoring capabilities, they can maintain geospatial data quality and currency within the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

Collaboration is accelerated for all stakeholders in particular through the City Contributor role with Search and Find, to enhance situational awareness directly via the virtual twin experience. Contributors can discover and locate items of interest by keywords and geospatial buffers in data-dense territorial experiences. Finally, the scientific community and policy-makers are brought closer together to tackle complex urban sustainability challenges through the experience of environmental simulation results in the context of the territorial virtual twin.
